The Center For The Arts

Located just outside of the historic core of downtown Grass Valley The Center for the Arts has been a cultural hub for the community. The existing space was outdated and was not conducive to supporting many of the activities taking place as The Center was reliant on renting outside venues for large acts.

A new stage structure was installed and the entire theatre was rotated 90 degrees. New retractable seating along with floor seats expanded the seating to 500 seats. All the seating can be retracted and removed to allow for dance concerts of up to 750 people. By increasing the seating capacity and installing a more flexible stage and floor plan, The Center is less dependent on renting outside venues and can adjust the layout to accommodate large productions as well as small intimate shows. With a new state-of-the-art sound system by Meyer Sound, The Center is now able to provide the community with experiences that were not possible before.

A full bar was added to the expanded lobby to support the events and provide expanded revenue during events. An art gallery adjacent to the lobby provides an outlet for the community to engage with local artists and The Center during all hours of operation.
